The Evansville District Walk to Emmaus was launched in 1993 as part of the international ecumenical Emmaus movement, and has continuously and successfully sponsored Walk to Emmaus weekends ever since. In 2011, EDWE will be blessed to sponsor its 70th and 71st weekends in March and its 72nd and 73rd weekends in October.
Since our first Walk in 1993, EDWE has been able to help hundreds upon hundreds of men and women learn how to acquire a deeper and more meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ, and become more effective and active members of the Body of Christ. The purpose of EDWE is to inspire, challenge, and equip church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, and places of employment, and EDWE has been blessed to be able to equip so many members of the Body of Christ for their Christian mission. Although EDWE functions under the auspices of the International Emmaus Program of Upper Room Ministries, it is an ecumenical movement for individuals of all denominations.
EDWE is a non-profit corporation that has been granted tax-exempt status by the IRS and the Indiana Department of Revenue.
